First, let’s look at why the testing costs so much. When we study, we know that tests cost money. We also realize that this learning cost goes way up when we do the studying by ourselves and/or hire a private tutor. Furthermore, we also realize that there are a lot more tests in this particular niche than in others, so we spend more time studying and doing test preparation. All of these add up to more costs for us.
Second, let’s take a look at why the costs go up even for the most well-rounded study method. For example, it costs more to take individual study courses versus taking an entire classroom course. In addition to this, a student who spends a lot of time to study and working on multiple online classes, will also incur additional costs. The bottom line is, the more time spent studying the less it is going to cost.
Now, lets talk about the “real world” costs. I have two sons. I have to be a good mom and dad both. I have to work a full-time job and I have to be active in both my sons’ and daughter’s lives. When we took the Casp Exam, I made sure I had plenty of study time. My understanding of the material improved a great deal when I put more time into the studies.
My husband works in a management role in a consulting firm. He loves this career and he loves the freedom of being his own boss. He also loves the opportunity to travel around the world. So, I know what it is like to be a mom or dad who is struggling to make ends meet and try to support your family as well.
So, what do we do? We make the time to go through all the available training programs. It is often tempting just to take the easy road and just get the certification. However, if you are trying to make ends meet, that might be the worst thing you can do. Getting a certification is a great way to jump start your career, but you’ll probably end up quitting before you finish the entire program.
Fortunately, there are some really good study guides out there that make studying for the Casp Exam not only interesting but cost effective as well. These study guides have interactive quizzes, tests and videos that will help you learn the material a lot faster than if you just took the exam. You can work through the material at your own pace and then when you feel ready, you can take a practice test or two to see where you are really at. These tests will allow you to see where your weak points are and help you pinpoint exactly what you need to work on. They also will let you know exactly how much testing you’ll have to do before you can get the certification.
Don’t let the high cost of certification bother you. Remember that it’s the value of the knowledge and experience that matter the most. If you’re willing to put in the time, you can get certified. Just don’t expect to walk out of your first class with the certificate. You’ll have to work hard and study hard.
